HOG Profile - John Price

1) When and how did you first get into riding a Harley? I got my '02 Hertiage Softail in December 22, 2007. A friend of mine bought a new Road King, rode it to work and that started me thinking about getting another bike. I had sold my last Bike an '80 Yamaha XS 1100 about 10 years before this, so I went out and got 2000 Honda Shadow Ace 750 to scratch my itch, kept it about 18 months, then on the way to a Christmas party in '07 asked my wife what she would think about me trading bikes and she said to my surprise, "if its something you enjoy then go for it". I nearly fell over. The rest is history.

2) How long have you been riding? I got my first bike in 1972 and rode till 1992-93 when I sold the XS1100 then got next one in 2005 so about 25 years total.

3) What is your favorite trip or place to ride? Favorite trip would be when I rode with 5 other guys to Fredericksburg in 2009, first real trip I had taken in all my years riding. Rode two of the Three Sisters.

4) What gives you the greatest thrill while riding? Just the feel of the freedom of the road.

5) What is your best memory associated with riding? Riding to the state HOG rally in 2009, with Lynda and Stan Fogerson and others, riding in the rain the last 40-50 miles to New Braunfels.

6) What do you do in your 'other' life and how does your Harley fit in with that? My other life since March 31, 2010 has been retirement with a 7 month detour for a broken leg and collar bone, but now on it will be riding where and when I want!

7) What is your philosophy of riding? It is an attitude adjustment, nothing like taking a ride after a bad day to change how you feel.
